Premier League review and Carling Cup final review

Carling Cup final

Arsenal v Birmingham- This is the first final of the year. For Arsenal this is a big moment as they have not won a trophy for 6 years now and the fans love the pretty footbal but they desperate to see a winning medal with that. For Birmingham there main goal is to remain in the Premiership but a trophy will not go miss. It is a very long time since they last won a domestic trophy and for the newish owners it will send out a signal that Birmingham are on the right track. it is a day they can forget about there premier league woes and there fight and go for a trophy. I see Arsenal winning it in the end. I think in will be an open game and Arsenal to win 3-1.

Premier League Review

West Ham vs Liverpool- Kenny Dalglish (or known as King Kenny to Liverpool fans) will be desperate for Liverpool to get back to winning ways after there disappointing draw at Wigan. Since losing to Blackpool in his second match in charge he has taken a Liverpool team 8 games unbeaten. For West Ham it is crustal that they get points from there home games. They will be up for this after scoring 8 goals after there last couple of games and progress in the FA cup so my prediction is 1-1.

Aston Villa vs Blackburn- This is a game for both as they battle to stay in the premiership. Aston Villa will go in as favorites as they are at home but Blackburn on there day can cause an upset. But because Blackburn are away from home I will have to favor Villa to come out on top. 2-0 Villa

Wigan v Man Utd- This is possibly the best chance Wigan will have a chance of beating Man U. Wigan's record against Man U isnt great but Man U have just started a tough period of games including trips to Chelsea and Liverpool so maybe some players might be rested. But I cant see Man U losing this one. Score prediction 1-2 Man U

Wolves v Blackpool- A big game for Both. Wolves are at the bottom of the premiership as they starting to drift away from the safety line. They are 3 points behind WBA (4th bottom). For Blackpool the victory against Spurs was a good win for them as they close in on safety. If they can win against Wolves they will move onto 35 points which is getting closer to the 40 number where most teams see as the safety mark. I see Blackpool taken it 1-2.

Stoke v West Brom- Stoke will come into this match full of confidence after there spirited performance against Arsenal which they could have easily got a point out of. They are also still in the FA cup and they seemed destined for Mid Table. For West Brom after a good start to there season they have slowly slipped down the order and after getting that big point against Wolves they only remain 1 point off the relegation places. Because Stoke are at home I see Stoke winning this 2-1.

Newcastle v Bolton- if this game was a few weeks ago then we would be saying a big match for both to stay in the prem as Newcastle were inconsistent and Bolton were slipping down the league but the last few matches has got these 2 close to safety. I believe both teams are 1 win away from safety so pressure will be off both teams but as Newcastle are at home I can see them taking this 3-1.

Man City v Fulham- Man City are coming off a good European night but there goal is to get into the Champions League by the end of this season. Matches Liverpool Fulham at home is matches they should win. For Fulham they are still in this relegation fight but they a couple of good results away from getting themselves out and into mid table safety. I cant see them doing a shock here even though past matches at Eastlands against these 2 have been entertaining I see Man City taken this 3-1.

Everton v Sunderland- Everton season has been an up and down season. They can put on performances like they did at the weekend against Chelsea (won 4-3 on penalties) and put on a poor display against Bolton where it was the worst performance he has ever seen according to Moyes as manager of Everton. Sunderland on the other hand have been the surprise package of the Premier League they are up there with Liverpool fighting for a European place. They have never been down there in a fight and will end up in a respectable place at the end of the season. I think Everton should have too much and win 2-1.
