If there was any term as an easy draw this was possibly it. The match didnt inspire to many people and probably wont be remembered for too much longer. The visitors were the better team with the better players but they didnt really have any clear cut chances. Liverpool were lacking a real treat upfront and at times Ngog looked really isolated. The home side had one clear cut chance in the first half that Reina had to palm away but they didnt have anyone there to tap in a rebound.
Second half wasnt too much better. Glen Johnson having the best chance for the visitors getting into the penalty area and where he needed a left footed drive on target he gave an right footed toe pock past the goal. Joe Cole came back from injury and had to come on after 36 mins because of injury to Aurelio. He nearly set up a goal for Ngog in the second half.
It was clear that Liverpool didnt mind the draw when Ngog was brought off for Skrtel. Sparta Prague did look for threatening as Liverpool invited pressure onto them and Vacek midfield nearly scored as he took a shot outside the box and fired just past the side of Reina. Apart from that Liverpool held on and they will be hoping to do the job back at Anfield next week.
