FA Cup results

Arsenal 5-0 Leyton Orient- An 5 star performance from Arsenal as they looked to move on from there shock Carling Cup defeat. Chamakh put the home side into the lead and then Bendtner stole the show as he headed the first one in, curled his second goal in and scored an penalty because Gibbs was tripped in the box. They still had enough time to for the substitute Clichy to slot in a 5th as they eased into the quarter final.

Man City 3 - 0 Aston Villa- Man City had an easy night as well as they faced an weakened Aston Villa team. The result was never in doubt when Ya Ya Toure drove a ball home in the 5th min. If he hadnt scored Man City might have got a penalty as it hit one of the Villa defenders on the arm. Villa responded well getting a couple of chances but when Balotelli scored the second the game, as a contest was over. It was a question of how many rather than Villa getting back into this match. They could not get any more goals till Silva who nailed a the ball past Friedel as they eased to an 3-0 victory.

Quarter Final draw

Manchester United vs Arsenal
Manchester City vs Reading
Stoke v West Ham
Birmingham v Bolton

The Tie of the round is Man U vs Arsenal at Old Trafford. Reading's fine victory yesterday against Everton has given them a big money spinning tie against Man City and they will hope to do another upset. Birmingham after there victory at Wembley will be desperate to play there again as the much improved Bolton will hope to spoil the party. And Stoke will hope they can make it to Wembley as it would show there progression under Tony Pulis. For West Ham a good cup run might be just what they need to help them get themselves out of trouble like Birmingham have done with there Carling and FA cup run.
