Ac Milan vs Tottenham

What a start to the Champions League knock out stage last night. It was a dramatic night on and off the pitch through out.

Ac Milan vs Tottenham

This wasn't in the scrip at the San Siro especially as the last trip to San Siro saw them 4-0 down before half time but last night was the complete opposite. Harry Redknapp said Spurs will attack and they did keep to there word. The surprise before the match started was that Kranjcar was left out for Pienaar but everyone had put in there fair share of effort in the match.

Crouch played really well upfront using his height to his advantage to keep the Milan defenders on there toes. This left Van Der Vat to play an more freer role and they even had shouts for a penalty when Nesta blocked a shot with his hand. By having an aging team Milan really struggled to play against Lennon's pace through out by taking on defenders. But VDV was the real danger for Milan to take out he had a long range shot saved and tried to chip the goalkeeper which went really close.

Milan had to change things around at half time and took off the aging Seedorf and brought on the youthful Pato. They made Gomes into making big saves in the second half including from the center back it took the full length of Gomes to get to that. Yepes had another header to keep the scores at 0-0. Milan were lucky to keep 11 men on the field as Flamini tackled Corluka 2 footed and only got a yellow. All this missed oppertuniy came back to bite Milan as Lennon stormed down the wing for Crouch to tap in a simple goal. Ac Milan had a goal ruled out at the end from Ibrahimovic as Spurs held on for a famous victory at the San Siro.

After the full time whistle blew Gattuso seemed to have headbutted the assistant manager of Tottenham, Joe Jordan. It looked like frustration had come out and he took it out on Joe Jordon. Later Gattuso had apologizes "I lost control," There is no excuse for what I did. I take my responsibilities for that," He went on and said "I didn't want to argue with players and I did it with him, but I was wrong to do what I have done. I will have to await what they decide.". UFEA will investigate what happened.

Spurs will be favorites back at home playing with an away goal already in the bag. They will have key players back like Bale, a fully fit Modric and Woodgate. To make that team even stronger than it already is.
