From the high of the San Siro on Tuesday, Tottenham hit a miserable low at the seaside as they lost 3-1 to Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.
Charlie Adam's put Blackpool ahead on 18 minutes with a clinical penalty after Sabastien Bassong brought down DJ Campbell.
Jermain Defoe then had a great chance to level when Roman Pavlyuchenko put him through and Defoe's shot was helped on by Richard Kingson's right hand and then Craig Cathcart's clearance hit the bar then came out to the grateful hands of Kingson.
After good work from Aaron Lennon, his cross was parried away but straight to Pavlychenko who laid it back to Defoe who's shot was cleared off the line by Alex Baptiste.
Campbell doubled the lead on 44 minutes after blasting passed Michael Dawson and Benoit Assou-Ekotto, he passed it to Sergey Kornilenko who after teasing Bassong, back-heeled it
to James Beattie. Beattie then crossed it to the back post to Campbell to neatly finish although Campbell was in a offside position.
In the second half, Pavlychenko started a great move firstly shrugging past two defenders and then passing to Lennon. Lennon then flew past Baptiste and and crossed a high ball to Pavlychenko who powered a header which was straight at Kingson but still had to pull off a smart save.
Assou-Ekotto then crossed a diagonal ball to Lennon who cut back and dribbled past two defenders to cross with his left foot to Pavlyhcenko at the far post who powered a header which Kingson saved brilliantly and then gathered the ball from Defoe's grasp.
And then controversy as Defoe went into the heart of the Blackpool defence, he put through Niko Kranjcar who chipped the diving kingson but was brought down by the Ghanaian shot-stopper, Baptiste cleared the ball off the line and referee Chris Foy didn't give the penalty.
Substitute Brett Ormerod then sealed the three points after Campbell and sub Matt Phillips combined, Phillips went between two defenders but the ball broke to Ormerod to put the ball past the diving Gomes.
The Tottenham consolation was when a long ball played forward to substitute Peter Crouch who's flick on was met by Pavlychenko who's deflected shot looped Kingson and into the back of the net.
Blackpool are now 12th, 5 points above the relegation zone and Spurs are 4th 2 points ahead of Chelsea but Spurs have played one game more than the champions.
