Chelsea 1-1 Everton (Everton won 4-3 on penalties. Who said the FA cup has lost its magic. Everton won a tight well played game. It was the experienced Phil Neville tucking in the penalty tuck in the winner for Everton.
It was a proper cup tie as in the first 90 mins of the match was really close but no one could break the deadlock. Drogba was the main threat for Chelsea as he had long shots, free kicks and tight shots saved by Tim Howard.
Evertons chances came from Osman and Beckford as they both came close to putting Everton into the lead. Beckford was taken off and replaced by Anichebe who nearly made an immediate impact as he shot just wide of the post. Everton did score an disallowed goal when Baines shot and Cech parried to Fellaini he tapped it in but the flag was up and it was proven to be a right decision as no deadlock it went to extra time.
A typical Chelsea move got about a goal for Lampard when Malouda crossed in a goal for Lampard to tap in. It then looked like as if Chelsea would win as it took a lot out of Everton but Baines had a free kick and curled in and Cech had no chance.
In the penalty shootout Anelka and Cole both missed there penalties and Baines missed his and the captain Phil Neville slotted in a big victory for Everton and puts more misery to Carlo's men who now only has the Champions League as a realistic trophy to go for.
Man City 5 - 0 Notts County- Man City were in scoring form as they took apart Notts County at the City of Manchester Stadium. As soon as Viera headed in a Silva cross the score was never in doubt. They held on well in the first half and only the demanding Viera scored past them but in the second half Vieira got another goal and the Notts Country resistant fell apart in the last 10 mins as Tevez rounded the goal keeper in the 84th min to put the game beyond Notts County Dzeko then scored in the last min of full time and Richards completed the game off with a left footed volly from a corner to give Man City an easy enough victory.
