Tennis- Roger Federer has eased into the quarter finals of the Dubai Championships as he beat Marcel Granollers 6-3,6-4. It only took the Swiss 70 mins to beat his opponent. He will now face Sergiy Stakhovsky for a place in the semi-final. The defending Champion Novak Djokovic fresh from his Australian open victory beat Lopez 6-3 2-6 6-4. He will face Florian Meyer in the quarters. There were also wins for the 3rd seed Berdych, Mayer, Petzschner and wins for the two French men Gasquet and Simon.
Rugby world cup- The Rugby world cup will still be held in New Zealand despite an devastating earth quake in Christchurch on Tuesday.
2012 London Olympics- The Olympics is still on budget according to government figures. The budget is £9.298bn and at this present moment £7.301bn. 79% of the project is now complete and venues are close to be finished and the first venue was opened at Velodrome earlier on this week.
