sports round up

England vs France 6 nations - Sheridan is back in the England team to face France but the captain Moody isnt fit enough enough to return. The reason why Moody isnt going to play is because in injury which kept him out of the first 2 matches had returned again and Tindal will stay as captain. France have had to make a late change as Maxime Medard got an hamstring injury as Clement Poitrenaud comes in.

Cricket world cup- Fans have clashed with police as cricket world cup final tickets were handed out. Only 8,000 tickets were sold in a 40,000 stadium. Police used batons to control to control the crowd and the tickets which were on sale were sold out in 2 and a half hours.

Women's football- Faye White the England captain wants a team GB in womens football in London 2012. This is a big year for Women's football as the start of the Super League and the Champions League start with also the FIFA women's world cup. They believe womens football can make a name for themselves.

Tennis- In the Qatar Open Wozniacki eased into the semi-finals as she beat Flavia Pennetta 6-2,6-0. Her next round will be against the French women Bartoli won beat Peng Shuai of China 6-2,6-2. Jankovic is also through to the semi finals as she beat Zakopalova of the Czech Republic 6-2,7-5. She will face Zvonareva in the semi final as she came through a 3 set match and 3 hour match against Hantuchova 7-5, 6-7, 7-5 in the tie of the round.

In other tennis news Mario Ancic is forced to retire at the age of 26. He has been fighting illness and injury. He made his name in 2002 when he made the semi final of Wimbledon beating Federer along the way. He also made the semi final 2 years later. He also won 5 doubles tournaments. His greatest moment came when Croatian won the Davis cup as he won the deciding rubber against Slovakia. He also has won Bronze medal at the 2004 Olympic games.
