Premier League Darts week 7 Brighton review

Phil Taylor picked up his biggest victory of the season with an 8-1 rout of James Wade at the Brighton Centre, as he prepared for next week's clash with in-form Raymond van Barneveld in style.

Taylor had hit two nine-darters to defeat Wade in last seasons Premier League final, and produced another brilliant display to average almost 106 against the left-hander.

He hit 180's in each of the opening three legs to take command in the game, and after Wade took the forth he won the next five without reply to seal a comprehensive win.

Raymond van Barneveld remains two points behind Taylor following his 8-5 victory against Gary Anderson, who has now lost three consecutive games since winning the opening four.

Van Barneveld trailed 2-0 early on, but lead 6-3 at one stage before completing a high quality win.

Australian Simon Whitlock picked up his third victory of the season, powering past Mark Webster with an 8-2 win which included finishes of 140 and 120.

The hight also featured the first draw of the season, as Terry Jenkins won the deciding legof his clash with Adrian Lewis to grab a point against the world champion.
