Liverpool 3 - 1 Man Utd- For Man U this is always seen as the big derby to win. But they didnt seem to be at the races at all. Kuyt will be grabbing the headlines for his hat-trick but the person who ran the show really well was Suarez. His passing, his movement, his knowledge of the game and his class was shown through out. His biggest contribution is when he skipped passed the 3 defenders to set up Kuyt's first goal. But through out he always at the hole between the defense and the midfield.
Man U didnt have too many chances but Berbatov had the best which was cleared off the line by Meireles. It was obvious that Man U were missing Ferdinand and Vidic at the heart of the defense which makes it more the surprising why Fletcher was on the bench and only came on late in the match. Tempers did flare over more than one occasion and Carragher was lucky to stay on the field when he injured Nani got away with an yellow. Rafael also got an yellow when he maybe should red card going in for an tackle with studs showing. Hernandez did pull one back but overall Man U were not at the races and Liverpool deserved their victory as they keep there faint hopes alive of top 4 finish. An blow to Man U but it isnt a knock blow as my next report will show.
Arsenal 0 - 0 Sunderland- This was an big opportunity for Arsenal to close the gap on Man U having an home match against Sunderland. Arsenal missed a number of chances as this was one of the most one sided 0-0 draws there has been all season. Nasri and Chamakh had shots which hit the bar. There were many more chances as Arshavin and Bendtner had a couple which were saved. Wenger day was made worse when Arshavin scored an perfectly good goal wrongly called offside and a penalty which wasnt given even though Bramble pushed him to the ground. Sunderland had a couple of dangerous moments. Bardsley had a shot which went wide, Welbeck had a shot which was well saved by Szczesny and they did have a couple of dangerous crosses which were cleared by the defenders. But for the majority of the match Arsenal dominated but they just couldnt get a goal. For Sunderland an brilliant draw and probably an result away from safety. A frustrating day for Arsenal points dropped even though Man U lost.
Man City 1 - 0 Wigan- A day that Al Habsi will want to forget as he made an simple mistake which lead to the goal for Silva a game that Wigan actually dominated. Al Habsi did have to make some crucial saves as Balotelli had a couple of shots Silva had a few shots and so did Tevez make Al Habsi save from an angle. Rodallega had an late chance to make it 1-1 but Hart did really well to save his shot and Sammon last minute chance. Wigan were unlucky but Man City stay in the hunt for the title and stay in the top 4. For Wigan they need points fast as they are 4 points off safety.

The interesting team news was Torres was playing with Drogba upfront in this match. Blackpool played there normal attacking football and started off the better side but an Lampard corner in the 20th minute which Terry rose the highest to give them the lead. But Blackpool did respond well Puncheon having causing problem having an chance of drawing level where he hit the post it looked to have come back to Beattie but Cech was there to claim the ball. The second half Drogba then got an hip injury and he limped off and was replaced by Kalou who was the driving force. His driving runs and his pace was worrying Blackpool and his run that Evatt tripped him over in the penalty box and it was an penalty. Lampard slotted the penalty in. 4 minutes later Kalou made another goal as he gave an super pass to Lampard which he was one on one with the goalkeeper and scored. He looked to have timed even better and scored another wonderful goal. 5 minutes later Wolves were given an penalty when Milijas was brought down by Hutton. Spurs came out at the start of the second half really fast as Pavlyuchenko scored another beautiful goal as he got an pass by Defoe and he blasted into the net. As Wolves were looking for an equalizer Harry brought on Bale. He was finding an lot of space and maybe should have put the tie to bed when he raced passed the defense and could only shoot straight at the goalkeeper. Defoe then had an shot which only just missed and hit the post. He deserved an hat-trick. Then Stearman headed a ball into the net but he was seen to have fouled Gomes but replays show he spilled the bowl and the goal should have stuck. But in the 87th minute Jarvis crossed in a ball which Fletcher headed in to make it 3-3. A thrilling match and the score was about right. Important point for Wolves as it keeps them in touch with the other teams facing the drop and Spurs staying in the hunt for an top 4 finish.
Birmingham 1 - 3 West Brom- Roy Hodgson has got an big victory as West Brom win the midlands derby. A game where all the action happened in the first half. West Ham 3 - 0 Stoke- West Ham have won there first back to back home matches of the season and it could not have come at an better time.
