Round up of the Day's Sport

Cricket- England have announced there 20/20 and 50 over teams for this summer's matches against Sri Lanka. The main admissions from the team are Collingwood and Prior being dropped. Yardy isnt in the team because he is taking time out of the game to sort out his depression problem. The main benefits from those being dropped are Kieswetter and Patel being brought back. Woakes has also been re-called after just missing out from the world cup and Dernbach who is getting an bigger reputation has also been included. Cook will lead the ODI team while Broad will lead them in the 20/20 format. As Cook doesnt play 20/20 there is room for Lumb in the team to open as there is 13 men been picked for the 20/20 team and 14 men in the 50 over game with Trott also in 50 over but in the 20 over format.

In other cricket news India struggle on day one of the first test match against the West Indies at Jamaica. India slumped to 85-6 when Raina and Harbhajan Singh got them out of an hole as they put on an 146 partnership with Raina scoring 82 off 115 balls including 15 fours while Harbhajan 70 off 74 balls including 10 fours and an 6. They scraped there way to 246 all out. There was some joy at the end of the day for India as India got Simmons was out for 3 but the West Indies ended on 34-1 at the close.

Football- Chelsea are closing in on there manager Andre Villas-Boa. Today he has resigned from his Club Porto after Chelsea matched the release-clause of his contract and Chelsea have conformed they are interested in him. He will start talks tomorrow. He has been fast been seen as the rising star of the world game and is rated very highly and he is only aged 33 (same age as Lampard).

Team GB in football are not close to being agreed according to the Scotland, Welsh and Northern Ireland FA. This was on the backdrop of The British Olympic Association said a "historic agreement" is close. But the understanding is that it is likely to turn out that these 3 FAs will not allow any of there players to play for team GB and allow the FA to run team GB and pick just England players for the Olympics without the other nations but be called team GB in both Women and Men's football.

In other football news Jamie O'Hara has made the transfer to Wolves from Spurs permanent after having an successful loan period there where he helped the club from relegation. The fee is around 5 million pounds and has signed a 5 year deal. This is likely to be an busy transfer window for Wolves this summer.

Golf- The man of the moment Rory McIlroy has said he will take an 3 week break. The 22 year old is on the back of winning the US open by an massive 8 shot margin and has become the new world number 4 in the rankings. He plans to make an comeback for the Open Championship next month. On his arrival back he said "It feels good, it feels great. It's nice to be able to call myself a major champion," If he keeps playing like this there will be many more major championship.

Swimming- Tom Daley will lead the British synchronised team at the world championships in Shanghai. There will be an team of 11 going down there to secure qualification at the 2012 Olympics. He will dive with team-mate Pete Waterfield if the team diving and compete against each other in the single diving event. The full team going to Shanghai are : Tom Daley, Pete Waterfield, Jack Laugher, Chris Mears, Nick Robinson-Baker, Sarah Barrow, Alicia Blagg, Tonia Couch, Jenny Cowen, Rebecca Gallantree and Hannah Starling.
