Other cricket world Cup news

In the other world cup news England have asked for special dispensation to let Chris Tremlett play in there first warm up match as Bresnan and Broad will not be risked for the match. They are both expected to be fit for the world cup. The news on Bresnan is that he is ahead of schedule but England will not rush him back.

Indian team news ahead of tomorrows match against New Zealand is that the little master Sachin Tendulkar is expected to make his come back after recovering from injury. Zaheer Khan is in contention for tomorrow's match but it likely he will not be risked before he plays in the Bangladesh match on Saturday.

Other news- Reports are showing that the opening match for Sri Lanka (who play Canada) is sold out the 35,000 capacity stadium at the Hambantota Stadium on Sunday the 20th of February. Also Netherlands captain Peter Borren is a doubt to play against England at Nagpur through an abdominal strain.

Ponting has urged his middle order to play spin better to have any chance of retaining the world cup for the forth time. And finally the great Steve Waugh thinks the cricket 50 over world cup will have a major lift by being hosted in Asia and thinks the co-hosts can do well in this world cup.
